Since starting this blog back in the fall, I’ve ventured to come up with something near and dear to my baseball heart — a comprehensive, easy-to-understand compilation of the state of the art of statistical analysis of the game.
Well, it turns out I don’t have to, because it’s been done for me, and now I share it with you.
On the Web site SocratED.com, Steve Slowinski gives us Introduction to Baseball Analysis and Sabermetrics. In seven chapters (and less than two hours), its a study of the state of the art of the analysis of baseball numbers from A to Z. Sabermetrics 101. And it’s free. The only cost is your time, which, if your like most of us, is valuable. In my opinion, though, baseball fans can’t afford to disregard this information.
