The Minnesota Twins have upgraded the bullpen by acquiring Matt Capps from the Nationals. They gave up top prospect Wilson Ramos, a catcher, and lefty Joe Testa.
While the Twins gave up their top prospect, it was a needed addition; Capps will fill in for injured closer Joe Nathan. On top of that, Capps is under team control for 2011. He was non-tendered by the Pirates in the off-season and signed with the Nationals. Drew Storen or Ty Clippard will probably be the closer for the Nationals now.
Ramos should play a roll for the Nationals right away, while Testa should be assigned to Double A.
